Pick-up from Cusco by private transport at 8. 00 Am., and travel through the highlands of Anta towards the Northwest. After passing the pass of Willque you will descend into the beautiful Limatambo valley where, on most days, you may enjoy breathtaking views of Salkantay, the second highest Apu (mountain) of the region (6,272 m).
Near Limatambo town, you will follow a well-preserved dirt road up to the picturesque highland hamlet of Chonta. Time permitting, you will briefly visit the local school that benefits from donations, before starting your two-hour trek (moderate difficulty).
You may spot typical highland birds on the way, whilst appreciating the local flora and the spectacular scenery as you approach the canyon. A short hike downhill will take you to the viewpoint in time for a delicious box lunch.
You will stay at this marvelous spot for 2-3 hours in order to appreciate the condors as they soar upwards, being transported by thermal winds. After view the condors will back to Chonta to take your camp site.
After a hearty dinner, you may enjoy a warming fire and music in the area
Day 2
Wake up early and enjoy the amazing views of the snowy peak of Salkantay. After Breakfast we will journey to Quillarumiyoc where we will learn about the Mesa Work and how to move energy through the medicine bundle or Mesa an ancestral tradition in the Andes we will have lunch on the top of the mountains, in the afternoon we will drive back to Cusco.
