Overview
The Machu Picchu to Ausangate Trek is an 8-day expedition that combines the mystique of Machu Picchu with the raw beauty of the Ausangate region. This challenging journey takes you through diverse landscapes, from the lush cloud forests around Machu Picchu to the towering, snow-capped peaks of Ausangate. Itinerary
We will pick you up at the airport and transfer you to the hotel In Cusco for few hours of rest and acclimatization process, in the afternoon after lunch we will have a city tour of Cusco the puma city of the Incas. (Overnight in Cusco at the Costa del Sol – Ramada Cusco or Similar)
This day we will travel to the weaving community of Chinchero where we will visit with the coop of women that are recovering the ancient arts of weaving love and history to the textiles they produce. After visiting with them we will have a special lunch enjoying the delicious local food ( surprise lunch) in the afternoon we will prepare a special offering to Mother Earth and Mountain Spirits that we will offer to the fire afterwards. (Overnight in the Sacred Valley at the Inkallpa Yanahuara Hotel or similar)
After breakfast we will continue our visit to the sacred valley. Our first stop will be Pisac the sacred mountain of liberation. After lunch in Urubamba after visiting the interdimentional Portal in the sacred valley we will journey to Ollantaytambo the tree of life and temple of the four elements where we will be in ceremony with our sacred mountain. In the afternoon we’ll ride a train along the Urubamba river to the enchanting town of Aguas Calientes. (Overnight in Aguas Calientes at Waman Hotel or similar)
Today we’ll wake up early to get the bus that will take us to the place of dreams MACHUPICCHU. The sacred citadel that was built in the shape of a condor to learn from its mysteries enjoy the beautiful view of the Andean mountains. We will have a snack lunch at the mountain and after the guided tour we will come back to Aguas Calientes town where we’ll have lunch and ride our train back to Ollantaytambo and then Cusco. (Overnight in Cusco at Costa del sol – Ramada Hotel or Similar).
Today after breakfast we leave Cusco early in the morning for our three hour trip in a private vehicle to the small village of Tinqui (3,800 meters / 12,464 feet) on the way we will stop and visit the Sistine Chapel of Cusco. We will pass through beautiful landscapes and several traditional villages as Urcos, Cattca and Ocongate. The first 3 hours of road are wonderful prelude to the magnificent scenery of the Cordillera Vilcanota, with great views of Ausangate. Once we get to Pacchanta well make an offering to be thankful to Pachamama and the Apus for bringing us safe and sound after dinner you can enjoy of the magical hot springs of Ausangate with the amazing view of Ausangate Mountain. (Overnight at Pacchanta campsite).
We will have a special breakfast, before beginning our journey towards the sacred lagoons of the APU AUSANGATE. We will connect to the paths of the ancestors always in the company of the MAMA COCA we arrive at the APACHETA (step between two mountains or valleys) here we will offer our offerings to the different APUS and the MAMA QOCHAS to receive us in their house, and we will share the sacred leaves, soon We will descend to the sacred lagoons of OTORONGO QOCHA blue and turquoise waters to purify our bodies and spirits, and thus our bodies will become crystals like the snows of the APU AUSANGATE. Finally, we return to the community of PACCHANTA where our lunch awaits, then we can appreciate some textile works. (Overnight in Pacchanta campsite)
Relaxed morning optional visit to the hot springs with an amazing view of the mountain and after we will start packing up for returning to Cusco free afternoon and in the night we will have our farewell dinner.
Transfer to the airport to catch the flight to Lima. End of our services.
