You can find here Wachuma (San Pedro cactus) and Ayahuasca give an opportunity for transformation. A Wachuma ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony is a sacred communion with the spirit of that plant. It is encounter with yourself, and an opportunity of healing and transforming your life. The ceremony reconnect you with your nature, vision and unconditional love.
When you decide to have a Wachuma ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony, preparation is one of the most important steps. Just like the ceremony itself, preparation is a personal journey. It depends on your physical health, your emotional state, your mental process, and where you are on your spiritual path. By preparing with intention, you create the conditions for a safe and profound experience.
Preparing the Body for the ceremony
If you are ready to have Ayahuasca ceremony, San Pedro ceremony (or Wachuma ceremony) or any other plant medicine ceremony, we recommend prepare your body. It is the vessel, and how you treat it beforehand can make a difference. A couple of weeks before your Wachuma ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony, shift your diet into eating light and clean. Let go of heavy foods like red meat, fried dishes, processed snacks, sugar, caffeine, alcohol, and spices.
However not following the diet does not prevent you from participating in San Pedro ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony. It all depends on your personal journey, how you feel. As our Master Puma Fredy Quispe Singona, the keeper of the lineage, says “Listen to yourself first and last”. And if your body says, you should have a diet and deeper preparation – do it. If it says – you are ready just as you are, listen it. When we just learn to listen to ourselves, and it is hard to decide. In this case we suggest focusing on simple meals made with fresh vegetables, fruits, grains, and light proteins. Have a gentle cleansing that helps your body feel lighter and your energy clearer.
We highly recommend to abstain from drugs, cannabis, alcohol, sexual activities. Drink plenty of water so your body feels hydrated and refreshed. And if you are taking prescription medications – especially antidepressants (SSRIs) – it is essential to share your process with us. Some medications interact dangerously with plant medicine, and transparency ensures your safety.
Walking, stretching, or practicing yoga are perfect ways to keep your body balanced before and after the ceremony. The goal is not to push or exhaust yourself, but to feel strong, calm, and centered before, during and after the ceremony. Sometimes you can experience cleansing process a couple of days before the Huachuma ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony. This is the medicine and spirit of the plant beginning to work with you. Even before you drink it, your body and spirit are preparing on its own way. All this helps you to feel comfortable during the San Pedro ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony. Trust that what arises is part of your preparation.

Preparing the Mind for the Ceremony
Preparing your mind means slowing down, getting clear, opening up to the unknown, setting intentions. One of a great way to calm your mind and have some clarity is to write your thoughts down in a journal. Approach to the San Pedro ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony with an open mind and heart. It is a personal journey in a safe container that Master creates with alies.
At the same time, practice releasing control. Plant medicine such as Wachuma (San Pedro) or Ayahuasca does not always give you what you want. But it often shows you what you need. Sometimes that means facing memories, fears, or patterns you’ve avoided. Meditation, journaling, or quiet time in nature can help you practice stillness and strengthen your ability to sit with whatever arises. The more present you can be, the deeper your experience will go.
Preparing the Heart and Emotions for the ceremony
It’s natural to feel nervous, curious, or even afraid before Ayahuasca ceremony or Sna Pedro ceremony. These emotions are part of the journey and in fact your fear often points to exactly where healing is needed.
How do you know when you are ready for Ayahuasca ceremony or Huachuma ceremony? Master Puma says: If it is not a strong YES, it is a NO. So listen to yourself – where do your emotions come from? Do you sabotage yourself, or is it just not the right time for you? If you need some guidance, our masters, paq’os, medicine men and women will be glad to assist you. They can give you guidance through a coca leaf reading or giving you energy support that you need.
Also you may notice old emotions rising in the days leading up to Wachuma ceremony or Ayahuasca ceremony. This is also the medicine beginning to work with you even before you drink it. Trust the process and that what arises is part of your preparation.
