Itinerary
DAY 1: INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU (B, L)
Your adventure kicks off with a private pick-up from your hotel in Cusco, heading to the Ollantaytambo train station for a scenic train journey to Km 104, Chachabamba (2200 mt.). Begin by exploring the archaeological marvel of Chachabamba (2178 mt.) nestled in Peru’s endemic cloud forest. Traverse through picturesque orchids and diverse birdlife towards the archaeological gem of Wiñaywayna (2650 mt.), where a serene box lunch awaits. Following lunch, conquer the steep stairs for about 1.5 hours until you reach Sungate (Intipunku 2750 mt.), treating yourself to the first enchanting views of Machu Picchu. Descend for an hour to reach Machu Picchu, followed by a bus ride down to Aguas Calientes for an overnight stay at a cozy hotel.
DAY 2: EXPLORE THE WONDER OF MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (B)
Begin your day with an early breakfast before embarking on a 30-minute bus journey to the awe-inspiring Machu Picchu. Fulfill your dreams as you explore this historical wonder with our expert guide, unraveling its mysteries and ingenious structures crafted by Inca engineers. Feel the incredible energy and spirit of Machu Picchu before choosing to hike either Huayna Picchu or Machupicchu Mountain, or simply savor the park’s essence with a guided tour. Afterward, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch on your own, followed by a train ride back to Ollantaytambo station, where our Pumadventures representative will escort you to your hotel in Cusco.
