Twice a year, the Earth pauses in perfect balance – day and night stand as equals, light and shadow embrace. This sacred moment is the Equinox, and in the wisdom of the Andes, is a doorway, a cosmic portal, and an invitation to remember sacred teachings of the Rainbow Lineage.
In the Rainbow Lineage the Equinox is a time of harmony. The sacred feminine and the divine masculine energies meet and aligns in balance sduring this time. Life invites us to be balanced like day and night become equally measured: we must act and rest, receive and give.
Our adventures mirror different aspects that are of the cycle. The planting season begins at the time of the September Equinox throughout the Northern Hemisphere. Within the fertile soil are placed seeds, physical as well as spiritual. It is very powerful during this time to dream, set intentions. Manifesting projects as well as nurturing new life is supported through Father Sun, the sacred masculine.
The Equinox is a bringer of the harvest. This happens to be in the Southern Hemisphere. Previously, the seeds got sown. Fruits and grains now have blossomed forth. The call here is to give thanks, celebrate abundance, and recognize generosity from Pachamama. It is also just a moment for renewal, as the Earth rests and prepares herself for creation again in another cycle.
Experiences differ by hemisphere, but the teaching is the same: life is a dance of cycles since they seed, blossom, harvest, and renew.
We see the Equinox as a portal where earthly and cosmic energies align with a thinning veil. We step into this opening with ceremony and with different offerings. It is a chance for us to release that which no longer serves all of us, to embrace that which is ready for growth, and we can invite more balance back into our being. During the Equinox, it is we who are reminded that just as the rainbow is made up of many colors, harmony is born whenever we give honor to all of the parts of ourselves as well as to the world all around us.
Pumadventures observes the Equinox via ceremony within Cusco’s holy lands, led by our beautiful family and sacred knowledge. Joy and gratitude along with presence are twisted together by use of music and community prayers with Pachamama offerings.
By aligning with this moment, you contribute to the healing and balance of the Earth whether celebrating harvest in the south or planting seeds in the north. Reciprocity along with gratitude remind to us that harmony remains possible for The Equinox. In September, pause a moment and breathe. This September also ask yourself questions:
- What seeds am I ready to plant?
- What fruits am I called to celebrate?
- How can I honor Pachamama with gratitude and care
When we live these questions, we walk in balance with the Earth and with ourselves.
Each day is an opportunity to open up your heart more so that you love unconditionally. In service to our planet, shine your rainbow essence this Equinox.
